What is Vitamin D?

ACTIVE INGREDIENT LIBRARY

Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin that is synthesized in the body through exposure to sunlight and is found in certain foods. It has two main forms: D2 (ergocalciferol) and D3 (cholecalciferol). Vitamin D is critical for bone health.

In nature, vitamin D is found particularly in fatty fish, liver, egg yolks, and certain types of mushrooms. It can also be obtained through certain dietary supplements and fortified foods. Vitamin D plays an important role in the body’s calcium and phosphorus metabolism.
